London Fashion Week: Burberry Prorsum

Burberry Prorsum is a show I always look forward to - Christopher Bailey never disappoints and presents season after season of classic chic clothes with a cool and laid back twist. I watched this years fall/winter show on the live stream and was really amazed by how much it felt like having your own seat in the front row. The collection itself was good - there was great outerwear (as to be expected from Burberry) and nicely cut shirts and pants. I really liked the aviation inspired leather jackets at the beginning, so nice and comfy looking. And my favorite piece were the tough wool lined ankle boots!
Overall it was a good collection that I really enjoyed but it's not my favorite of Christoper Bailey for Burberry Prorsum.

boot love

^ Saw these Burberry Prorsum Fall 09 inspired Zara boots the other day and they've been on my mind ever since >.< They would make a damn good fall/winter boot with the rubber sole...but I simply can't justify buying anymore shoes at the moment...haha. But I'm so tempted...gah, I drooled over the originals so many times.

Milan Fashion Week: Burberry Prorsum

I know I say this every season but Christopher Bailey never disappoints me! The fall 09 collection was very toned down and natural with lots of basic and really timeless pieces.
The romantic and classic looks were toughened up with chunky lace up boots, spiked chain bracelets and the classic trenches were cut to look a tad bit slouchy for a masculine touch. Easily my favorite collection this season =)

Chanel and Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2009 collections

The collection's theme "Paris-Moscow" was very present it all the looks presented. Overall I didn't like the collection that much - it was way too costume-y for my taste. A lot of the pieces looked over the top (and I am not talking about the head pieces ;)) and not at all flattering. But despite all this I found some looks very appealing. It all reminded me of fairytale ice princesses and the head pieces had a great show factor. They reminded me of how I loved to drape jewelry all over my head and face when playing dress up a kid ^o^

Christopher Bailey never fails ♥. And can I have that most perfect suit in the world please?

Milan Fashion Week - Burberry Prorsum

My personal favorite collection shown in Milan this season is Burberry Prorsum

Christopher Bailey never disappoints me and it was no different this season. The collection seems like an extension from last season yet it is really different. While last season we got a polished young lady, the same girl has now discovered her "dark side". Like she went into the woods and got her pretty clothes wet and dirty. I love how in the collection luxury meets that worn/dirty/muddy look. It's interesting that he's doing something so dark and moody for spring but I actually like it. Also I think the styling is absolutely wonderful here, I really had a hard time choosing my favorite looks from the collection - I really loved every single one!

Resort 2009 Collections

It's resort time! I'm not such a big fan of resort collections but they're fun to look at nonetheless.

Balenciaga

My absolute favorite resort collection 2009 comes from Balenciaga, somehow Balenciaga is never a disappointment.
It looks like Nicolas Ghesquière was continuing some of the shapes from fall. Of course this isn't as strong and powerful as the fall collection but I think in return it is much more wearable. As always, Nicolas' tailoring blows my mind with its sharpness.

^ My favorite look from the collection. So exquisitely chic - looks a bit like a futuristic rock'n'roll ballerina!

3.1 Phillip Lim

Very pretty though not very unique but I don't expect that from a resort collection anyway. Yet I really like it, I can definitely see myself wearing almost everything in the collection. I think the best thing about this is the styling, it's what really caught my eye. I also like the use of colour.

Jenni Kayne

I always adore Jenni Kayne's designs for their simplicity and wearability without being boring. This resort collection is no exception, I really like the styling and the clean cuts. It all looks really classic and timeless but with a modern twist to it if that makes any sense.

Burberry

Lovely mixes of pattern and texture. I'm always amazed by how rock'n roll Burberry looks yet still manages to be very feminine and sometimes even a bit romantic. This is another nice resort collection but I have to admit that I'm starting to get a bit tired of the omnipresent belted waist at Burberry. I love that look but they always do that, almost every look in every collection it seems.

Doo-Ri

A couple of very interesting looks but the collection also features some not so special - in my opinion rather boring - dresses.

Jonathan Saunders

Definitely one of my favorite resort collections this season. Very strong and detailed looks. The colors, the contrast, the patters and the shapes...I love it all.

Prada

Prada's resort collection juse screams old luxury. And I like that a lot. It's all very chic and some of it gives off this nice artsy vibe. Love!

Vera Wang

A lot of the collection just seemes extremly unflattering and ill-fitted but I liked some looks.

Zac Posen

All in all a nice collection but I couldn't really make out a theme...it seemed more like a random assortment of clothes than a proper collection O.o . There were a couple of very nice pieces(especially dresses) but all in all it was a bit too costumey
