Milan Fashion Week S/S01: Sportmax, Antonio Marras, Gianfranco Ferré, Prada

^this is so nice and wearable. I love the light and very spring-y color palette and the fact that everything in the collection looks so effortless and chic.

^ the girly me loved Antonio Marras SS 2010 collection - the girls look like they could've stepped out of a fairy tale. The delicate transparent fabrics layers are perfect for spring and the tights and sock give the looks a perfect finish. Oh and not to forget the cute hats. Really, what's not to love about this?

^ if I were to attend some fancy red carpet event and could have my dress made by whoever I wanted I'd most likely choose Gianfranco Ferre. I just love the way he structures his delicate dresses and gowns and give them this certain uniqueness.

^ I really enjoyed this despite the fact that it's not very wearable. As a whole the looks are amazing but I think most of these pieces won't work on their own. I'm curious to see them in editorials tough.

Milan Fashion Week: Prada

I always look forward to Prada as it's always so unexpected and inspirational. This collection was very tough and warrior like. I really liked the flapper dresses and all those greatly cut coats. But as usual with Prada you got to let it sink in a bit before you can really make a judgement...and even if end up not liking it at all, it will be so all over the place that eventually it'll grow on you =P haha.

Milan Fashion Week Spring 09 - Gianfranco Ferré, Prada, Marni

I thought Gianfranco Ferré was a great start of Milan fashion week. Somehow I always feel drawn to architectural shapes and volumes - it fascinates me even though it might not be the most wearable thing in the world. Gianfranco Ferré's take on it was very balanced, not too over-the-top. After all this is still RTW although I do think it's got a very strong couture influence. Lovely to look at.

Not sure what to think of this collection. Somehow it's interesting but then again some looks were just plain ugly (I especially disliked the gold ones at the end). But as almost always with Prada, I'll have to look at it some more to really make up my mind. I often hate a look at first but then it grows on me...might also be due to the fact that no matter what Miuccia comes up with it's gonna be over all the editorials for months no matter how "ugly" it might be, haha.

I just had the post the shoes in detail - Marni shoes are always genius.
The collection is so fun and fresh, I love how she mixed so many colors, patterns and materials. The accessories were lovely too, especially the necklaces <3

Prada-esque lace

I haven't been shopping for a while and so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw all the new items at the H&M Trend section. They had a lot of fall stuff in already, including these wonderful lace pieces:

It's very very much inspired by the Prada Fall 08 collection which I really loved and so I couldn't resist and bought the rose/beige tulip skirt and the black top. The funny thing is I actually saw a beige lace skirt paired with a black lace top in the Prada store display just a few days ago, so I wanted to try the look myself by pairing these two pieces. I am actually quite happy with the outcome but I don't know if I'm going to wear it like that.

Resort 2009 Collections

It's resort time! I'm not such a big fan of resort collections but they're fun to look at nonetheless.

Balenciaga

My absolute favorite resort collection 2009 comes from Balenciaga, somehow Balenciaga is never a disappointment.
It looks like Nicolas Ghesquière was continuing some of the shapes from fall. Of course this isn't as strong and powerful as the fall collection but I think in return it is much more wearable. As always, Nicolas' tailoring blows my mind with its sharpness.

^ My favorite look from the collection. So exquisitely chic - looks a bit like a futuristic rock'n'roll ballerina!

3.1 Phillip Lim

Very pretty though not very unique but I don't expect that from a resort collection anyway. Yet I really like it, I can definitely see myself wearing almost everything in the collection. I think the best thing about this is the styling, it's what really caught my eye. I also like the use of colour.

Jenni Kayne

I always adore Jenni Kayne's designs for their simplicity and wearability without being boring. This resort collection is no exception, I really like the styling and the clean cuts. It all looks really classic and timeless but with a modern twist to it if that makes any sense.

Burberry

Lovely mixes of pattern and texture. I'm always amazed by how rock'n roll Burberry looks yet still manages to be very feminine and sometimes even a bit romantic. This is another nice resort collection but I have to admit that I'm starting to get a bit tired of the omnipresent belted waist at Burberry. I love that look but they always do that, almost every look in every collection it seems.

Doo-Ri

A couple of very interesting looks but the collection also features some not so special - in my opinion rather boring - dresses.

Jonathan Saunders

Definitely one of my favorite resort collections this season. Very strong and detailed looks. The colors, the contrast, the patters and the shapes...I love it all.

Prada

Prada's resort collection juse screams old luxury. And I like that a lot. It's all very chic and some of it gives off this nice artsy vibe. Love!

Vera Wang

A lot of the collection just seemes extremly unflattering and ill-fitted but I liked some looks.

Zac Posen

All in all a nice collection but I couldn't really make out a theme...it seemed more like a random assortment of clothes than a proper collection O.o . There were a couple of very nice pieces(especially dresses) but all in all it was a bit too costumey
