Givenchy Pre-Fall 2010

Paris Fashion Week: Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy

I'm not usually a fan of Lagerfeld but what he came up with this season for his own label I really like. The two-toned looks, the gorgeous shapes and that hilarious "face"-bag! I also really like the combination of those very structured pieces with the black tulle.

Lovely collection. A lot of nice pieces and amazing details. I think the whole show had a wonderfully positive feel to it.

Apart from the horrible mix of leather and denim in some looks I found the collection to be teriffic. You can see Tisci's signature gothic references but there's also a certain girly-ness in this collection which is a nice contrast I think.
And just how great are those black overknee boots?!!

runway to highstreet - givenchy fall 08

I know everyone has been crazy about the Givenchy Fall 08 collection but I have to mention it as well. I always adore Givenchy and the Fall 08 collection was so strong and captivating. It made me want to dress all black this fall. I really love the dark goth romance, it's definitely my favorite trend of the season.

Givenchy HC FW 08/09 Paris

I always look forward to seeing the Haute Couture shows from Givenchy. And this season was no disappointment although I still don't like it as much as what they did last season.

What I really like is that Tisci for Givenchy is one of the few doing Haute Couture with a modern and young twist. The clothes are beautifully constructed, detailed and designed and have this immediate Haute Couture feel without beeing decadent. Most other Haute Couture shows consist mainly of huge extravagant dresses with big bows and frills. I love that side of Haute Couture too but it's refreshing to see this "new" take on Haute Couture.
